Pravin,

Re: "BTW, sorry to hear that you were "duped" by Brian ..."

So why do you continue to believe in AMD after their performance and execution
with the .35um K6. This was their best "shot" at making some inroads
on Intel's CPU monopoly. They didn't execute their plans and they
are now trying to play "catchup" from an even more difficult position than
in April '97. In regards to Cyrix, there are a few very important facts
to consider before you are "duped" again.

1) Intel has the most advanced IC process, best yields and is the lowest
cost producer of CPU's in the world. Intel is very focused on "leading
edge" process development that then is translated into the fastest CPU's
available.

2) National Semiconductor is a process "follower" ... this has been their
recent business model. This will insure that Cyrix will not be able to
compete in the Corporate workstation, server or notebook markets. The
only market for Cyrix/National will be the home/ <$1000 PC market.

3) National Semiconductor is NOT the low cost producer of leading edge
CPU's or ASIC's. National's margins in the <$1000 PC market will always
be very low. If Intel decides to compete with specific designs in this
market, National will have to exit this market.

These facts are very hard to deny or argue ... hopefully you won't have
to suffer the financial losses that you did on AMD by following Brian's
advice.

Make It So,
Yousef
