You're right DB, a thing said in anger unsays itself. But she has a point in that MSFT won't let me have the source for NT. I have to write to the API as though it were a black box. I know it from how it works under app software load and complexity, not how it ought to work relative to a closed hardware limited dedicated architecture.I don't have her advantage of being an insider privy to current code maintenece and structure. I do know enough to assert her technical arguments are not fully correct or take a small issue and blow it out of relevant proportion.

NT is selling strongly and eating away at the Sun monopoly. It's an uphill battle for Sun to deal with this massive IS "ignorance". I've felt that MSFT has the best engineers in the world. I never got that sense from my limited examination of Solaris. I have an ex-Sun engineer friend who jumped to Netspeed tell me that Solaris was good. Now he isn't so sure. Solaris reminded me of MAC OS, or,perhaps, the DOS clunkiness of Communicator 4.03(no criticism intended).

On the fate of the internet question, you'll have to be more specific. On the hard core, do you mean x-rated sites?
