Whoa, Corel is making bicycles now?

You made a good point. I have stated before that they better get a new platform other than windows to make any money. From previous history they are making squat on WP and they are losing Market share in graphics to Adobe. Maybe they should be making bikes. I don't think there is a company with a monopoly in bikes is their? Maybe they should make hockey equipment since it's a Canadian thing to do. They could set up a booth in the Corel Centre and try direct marketing to recoup the 1 Mil they give away to the centre. Oh yes they should make tennis rackets with Corel's logo on them and sell them at the WTA tours. Oh I forgot they dumped the WTA.

The point of the matter is that Cowpland the big Kahuna is not a bean counter or marketing guy just a engineer and from my point of view a big ego because he uses Hockey and Tennis for advertising. I think this type of marketing is a waste of money considering Corel sales for WP is poor and they need every little bit of cash as it stands now. Does MS do this type of ads? Nope. Does Corel centre happen to be in Ottawa yes. I would guess that MS word out sells WP in Ottawa.

Cowpland and when I was a shareholder believed the best product will make the most money. Well I was unplesently surprised but this is incorrect. A monoplistic company controls the market and at the present time it's MS. If hind site is 20/20 then Corel shouldn't have taken WP over because any company that did was doomed to fail.

To sum things up, Corel has to try and survive on its small market share. From my past experiences when a company is faltering they bring in a new CFO and they do some major cutting in all areas of that company. So I would expect some cost cutting things to start happening in the not too distance future. IMO this is a bit late and this should have been done after the last quarter when sales were poor.
Corel will have to develop more prodcuts for a different platform other than windows and NC is a good starting point since so far nobody has a monoply on that platform.
