At $35, LU wants (assuming the rumor is true) ASND at price/sales of 7; at $40, ASND thinks it's worth p/s of 8, which is the price LU paid Livingston according to Gary Korn. So the rumor doesn't seem to be too bizarre. Livingston is selling to low-end price-sensitive ISP's, it doesn't have a carrier-class product. I still think ASND is better off by itself because I believe sometime in the next 12 months, the volatility will send ASND to $60 and I'll more than double my money, LU,NT,CPQ,CSCO can't offer such opportunity, but I sure like to see my ASND shares converted to LU, which causes much less headache. The buyout won't be in cash, right?
