You need to learn the difference between socialism and Marxism before you can even talk about Marxism. In the liberal world where we understand the difference very well, we use the word Marxist and Communist jokingly, mocking those(like you) who do not know the difference. We will call each other communists which really means holding a socialist idea, folks like you who do not know the difference will misinterpret as communist.
Actually, no, we don't need to learn the difference. They core philosophy with marxism, socialism, communism, fascism and progressive-ism is that the collective is more important than the individual. And that politicians and government workers know what is better for the individual than the individual knows for himself.
If I don't understand the nuances between maxist and maoist communism or socialism, who really gives a fuck? They all believe that it is ok to tell the masses that it is acceptable to take from the producers and give to the less productive for the betterment of the tribe. They believe that it is ok to do this using force. And they all result in the power and economic elite shifting from the producers to the politicians and government workers.
Hitler, Mao, Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Mussolini, FDR, Woodrow Wilson, Carter, Obama, they are all cut from the same philosophical cloth. You can throw in the majority of euro leaders and leaders of muslim countries too....all of whom put individual rights on back burner.
Perhaps we (the free market libertarian types) should skip the specific descriptions of communist, socialist etc.... and stick to the umbrella term "pinko", which applies to all of the leftist. |
