If we didn't have Medicare, hip replacements would be affordable by practically everyone in society -- at least as many as can now afford to pay what Medicare doesn't pay of it.

The reason health care costs are so high today is government tinkering with the system, and most notably, because of Medicare and Medicaid.

You won't address this point, however -- because you know deep down that the serious cost spiral for health care began in 1965.
