Yep, FNM and FRE all "had to keep up with the Joneses" and lend like nuts.... I remember the argument: "We're a stock company... we have to be competitive and run like a regular company".... yea right, just think if FNM and FRE had kept to their niche and essentially been limited like they were supposed to be. The would have become "irrelevant" in that time and place.... .JUST LIKE SHOULD HAPPEN IN A BUBBLE. Then they could have picked up the pieces when the shit hit the fan... instead of being one of the pieces. Oh, well, everyone saw that coming... tons of smart people were short that pig. DAK
