Thurrott’s Windows Phone 8 Book ... "Paul Thurrott’s Guide to Windows Phone 8" Paul's been writing prolifically about Microsoft and 'Windows' for the better part of 20 years and his latest published traditional softcover book in print is " Windows 8 Secrets" coauthored with Rafael Rivera although he's authored several mini-books in PDF or ebook format since it was published. Back in 2010 he published " Windows Phone Secrets" when Windows Phone 7 was released. Windows 7.0/7.1 was so rudimentary that it was hard to believe that one could write a 480 page book about it ... but Paul managed to do so. Last August Paul posted his plans to write a new book about Windows Phone 8 in a non-traditional fashion on his "Supersite for Windows" ... "Every time I complete writing a book like “Windows 8 Secrets,” I vow that I will never write a book again. And then I do. This time around, however, I knew I’d write another book. I just realized I wouldn’t be doing it the way I’ve always done: With a publisher using a condensed and hectic schedule that results in an end product that can’t easily be updated and thus never is. So I’m writing another book. It’s just going to be a different kind of book. ... I’ve decided to write about Windows Phone 8, creating a sequel of sorts to my 2010 book, Windows Phone Secrets. ... The draft is now nearing completion and he has a goal of completing it by July end.
