I agree that Walmart helps the poor by offering lower prices, but most of their mainline employees are essentially poor too and they treat them like DIRT.

They make people work hours like 12:00 to 3:00 and then come back to work 6:00 to 9:00 and then work the same wacky shift the next day and STILL keep them at 30 hours or less so they can't be considered full time.

Walmart harkens back to the days that Sinclair Lewis discussed. Essentially their employees stand out in front and they say, "We'll take you and you for 3 hours and then if you others stick around for several hours we MAY take you and you for 3 hours".
