Yeah, they were doing it before Obamacare and yeah they will probably do it more after Obamacare.

Yeah, they don't "make" anybody work, just like they didn't "make" anybody work early in the 1900's. But, people HAVE to work if they want to support their families and themselves.

Unions went TOO far, but that doesn't justify employers going TOO far.

I'm not saying that somebody like Walmart has to pay people enough to live the American Dream. They shouldn't have to pay too much because their jobs don't require much skill, education, or anything else. But, I don't think it's too much to expect them to treat their employees with a modicum of respect and scheduling them to work hours that make it impossible to work anywhere else but not paying them enough that they don't need to is unfair and disrespectful of their employees.

If they don't want to give them many hours then just work them a straight 6 hour shift so they can work another job. But telling them that they have to work 3 hours and then work another 3 hours 3 hours later doesn't give them any options. They CAN'T work another job.

You can SEE that, right?
