well, if and when these high power chips come, maybe the interest for soft modems rises.

An earlier post remarked about the soft modems needing official certification from the local telecom authorities in each country. I think that's a valid point and this will defer mass market introduction further still, at least in some countries.

I may have to revise my opinion, but at this point, I just don't believe in the soft modem threat myself.
