Update... took the card to my local camera shop and the are going to run recovery programs on it. Said it was likely a controller failure. They said SanDisk cards are the worst for this. $29.95 plus $12 per DVD it takes to burn the photos, if successful.

SP, took your advice and got a card reader. Thanks.
