ok,

Just to clarify and expand a bit. If you have lots of pads and phones that need connecting to wireless you probably need to turn you old router into a repeater to expand the range. If you have a specific subnet of wired devices that need connecting over a wireless space you would need to build a bridge. There also seems to be scope for doing both.
