Wow I never got that impression.. Almost seems like two very different worlds divided by rural central CA which stretches for300 hundred of miles.. Thought Las Vegas was the city connected to LA?

Hardly. Traffic flow between SFO and LA is huge. There are so many planes in the air between those two cities its amazing there has not been an accident.
