Maria (of CNBC) was way out of line IMO in her reporting of the rumor. Many could have interpreted her coverage as a done deal. On Friday morning, several daytrading groups had discussions that she had actually implied that $40 offer had be extended to ASND from LU. Maria may be a fading figure (*sigh) in the CNBC lineup if the LU+ASND acqisition never happens. My sources said when they inquired to LU about this rumor that they indeed had something to say as of early Friday (no longer was it no comment) to the effect "LU already is purchasing a networking company [why would we purchase another?]."* Best of luck.
