Maybe they are re-thinking the strategy. They've already sunk over nine million dollars over the last year and a half into this thing on the first case and don't want to throw good money after bad.

If you recall, they went after the hardest case first which had it stuck, would have paid off royally for Ampex since Mitsubishi would have possibly seen itself in a position where it could then lose the next two cases which Ampex stated were easier to prove. Ahhhh, the old risk-reward scenario abounds with Axc. Ampex took a high risk pursuing the most difficult case, which could provide the highest reward. Unfortunately, the reverse is what happened and hence no paydirt. If only Ampex had .....
