Friday, June 21, 2013 Zicam Intense Sinus Relief Review

I suffer from year round allergies and it seems like I am in constant need of allergy relief. Recently I was given the opportunity to try Zicam Intense Sinus Relief.

Initially I was a little hesitant about trying this. I have always been afraid of remedies that require you to snort them through your nasal cavity. I have always assumed it would hurt and drip down the back of my throat. Ick! Well one morning I woke up totally congested and I figured I could handle a little pain if it meant being able to breath. I was so relieved to find out that Zicam Intense Sinus Relief not only did not hurt a bit but it also did not give me nasal drip. This stuff worked wonders and almost instantly I was able to breath in through my nostrils, such a satisfying feeling. If you suffer from nasal congestion caused by allergies or even the common cold then you gotta give this stuff a try.
Contains cooling menthol and eucalyptus
Lasts up to 12 hours
Antihistamine- and steroid-free Non-drowsy Temporarily relieves nasal congestion and sinus pressure due to upper respiratory allergies, common cold, sinusitis and hay fever You can purchase Zicam Intense Sinus Relief and other Zicam products in mass market retailers, pharmacies, and grocery stores nationwide. Currently you can also print a $2.00 off coupon by visiting zicam.com ***Monica***

Monday, June 3, 2013 Freeman Beauty Foot Care Review
Summers here and with the hot hot hot weather we have been having it's time to kick your shoes off and play in the sun. Freeman carries an assortment of products to help get you barefoot ready. Here are the three products I was sent for review... Bare Foot Repair! for Callus Softening This lotion gently exfoliates rough dry skin on the soles of your feet. You apply to dry skin and then gently rub the dry dead skin away revealing soft feet. This stuff has a peppermint scent that is very light, it also works great. The key ingredients are Paraffin, Shea Butter, Karanja Oil, Neem Oil, Rosemary Leaf Oil, and Peppermint Oil. Together they leave your feet feeling smooth and refreshed. Neem oil contains anti-fungal properties, an added bonus! Bare Foot Repair! for Cracked Heels This intensive lotion penetrates deep into your skin to repair severely dry and cracked heels. Using this regularly keeps the soles of your feet looking and feeling great. This stuff worked immediately on my winter worn feet. They were instantly smooth as butter. The key ingredients in this lotion are Urea, Karanja Oil, Neem Oil, Peppermint Oil, Glycerin, and Rosemary Leaf Oil. Karanja Oil provides intense hydration! Bare Foot Repair! for Pain Relief For those days when your feet are aching from standing all day this lotion will soothe away those pains. This smells very menthol-y and provides a cooling sensation on your tired feet. My husband used this stuff on his feet and thought it was very relaxing and helped relieve his soreness. The key ingredients in this lotion are Methyl Salicylate, Camphor, Menthol, Neem Oil, and Urea. Methyl Salicylate is a natural aspirin that contains anti-inflammatory properties. All of these products and more Freeman beauty products can be purchased online or in Walgreens as well as other drugstores nationwide. They are very affordable and from what I tried effective. ***Monica***

Sunday, May 26, 2013 Going Vintage a Book Review

When Mallory discovers that her boyfriend, Jeremy, is cheating on her with an online girlfriend, she swears off boys. She also swears off modern technology. Inspired by a list of goals her grandmother made in 1962, Mallory decides to "go vintage" and return to a simpler time (when boyfriends couldn't cheat on you online). She sets out to complete grandma's list: run for pep club secretary, host a dinner party, sew a homecoming dress, find a steady, do something dangerous. But the list is trickier than it looks. And obviously finding a steady is out . . . no matter how good Oliver (Jeremy's cousin) smells. But with the help of her sister, she'll get it done. Somehow. I am a lover of past eras, movies, music, fashion, design, lifestyles. The 1940's through the 1960's have always held a special place in my heart. No, I was not born then, but the nostalgia of those past times have always drawn me. Back in my late teens/early twenties I lived in San Francisco. I was part of the "oh so hip and swinging" mod crowd there. We dressed in sixties mod attire, listened to 60's music, and rode around on 60's Italian motor scooters. Basically we lived and breathed anything and everything from the era, as much as we could anyway... in the 1990's. While I am no longer wearing mini skirts and go go boots I will always be fond of those times.
I was given the opportunity to read Going Vintage by author Lindsey Leavitt. The story is about a teenage girl, Mallory, that decides to leave the modern conveniences of life and live as she were living in a simpler time, the early 60's to be exact. The idea is brought on when first she discovers her boyfriend is "cyber cheating" and second when she discovers a list made by her grandmother, when she was her age in 1962. Mallory soon finds out that while dressing the part is pretty easy, especially when vintage fashion is so popular these days, avoiding modern technology a little trickier.
This is a very cute, funny, lighthearted book. It does a great job capturing the daily life of a teenager. The book was written for teens but I must admit that I still enjoy reading books that are targeted for that age. It was an easy and quick read and I think any teenage girl would enjoy and relate to this book. Who knows it might even peak their interest to learn more about the time period.
You can purchase Going Vintage online or at your local bookstore.

Sunday, May 19, 2013 Crabtree & Evelyn Product Review

In the past I have gotten to review some great products from Crabtree & Evelyn. A couple of months ago I was given another opportunity to try a couple of their products.
The Tarocco Orange, Eucalyptus & Sage Body and Hand Collection is inspired by energizing botanicals of Italy. Featuring Tarocco which is known as the Sicilian Blood Orange and grown largely in the Italian region. The Tarocco orange is loaded with antioxidants and vitamin C, while the eucalyptus and sage add purifying, and refreshing elements. This collection is also fragranced with bergamot, and neroli. I wasn't familiar with neroli so I looked it up. Neroli is an oil produced from the blossom of the bitter orange plant. Basically the fragrance you get from this product is citrus-y and fresh with just a bit of herbiness from the eucalyptus and sage.
Their are six products included in this collection; Deep Cleansing Body Scrub, Body Souffle, Body Lotion, Bath & Shower Gel, Body Mist, and Hand Therapy. The two products I was sent to try were the Tarocco Orange Body Lotion and the Tarocco Orange Bath and Shower Gel.

The body lotion absorbs quickly and does not leave your skin feeling greasy. Rather it gives your skin a soft satiny feel.

The bath and shower gel is a nice cleanser. It creates a rich lather and you can also pour a little into your bath water for a nice refreshing foam bath.
Both of these items wake you up with their lively scent and leave you feeling refreshed. I thoroughly enjoyed them as did my mom when she paid me a visit and tried them out. She was especially a fan of the way the Tarocco Orange, Eucalyptus & Sage smell. Want to try these products out? You can get this Little Luxuries set which includes smaller versions of Bath and Shower Gel, Body Lotion, and Hand Therapy for only $16.00.
You can purchase these items and more online or in a store near you.

Sunday, April 28, 2013 HuMn Wallet Review

The HuMn Wallet was designed to be the next evolution in wallets. Made out of aircraft grade aluminum or Pre-Preg Carbon Fiber, you’ll always be making a statement with your HuMn Wallet, while keeping your cards protected against RFID theft.

I was sent a HuMn 2 wallet for review in Orange. I was pretty excited about giving this to my husband Chris to try out because he has a tendency of not wanting to carry a wallet around. He usually just puts cash or whatever he needs in his pocket and I am always afraid it is going to get lost. It has happened and I often find money in his pockets while I am doing the wash. Score! This wallet is for the minimalist, the person that doesn't want to carry a big bulky wallet when they don't have to. It comes in a variety of colors, in aluminum or carbon fiber, and even a mini version! Aside from this wallets small package and hip look one of the other features it has is the ability to protect against electronic theft. The aluminum plates shield your credit cards from EMI and RFID scanning. So how exactly does this wallet work? Check out this video demonstration.
[iframe height=360 src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yWwqV2VNrI8?feature=player_detailpage" frameBorder=0 width=640 allowfullscreen=""][/iframe]
Pretty cool huh? Fathers day is just around the corner and this would make a nice gift for that tech savvy dad, or that on-the-go young adult, or even that ultra hip teenager. The HuMn wallet is not just for men though. It's great for women too! Have you ever gone to an amusement park, sporting event, street fair, or concert and have not wanted to lug your big ol' purse around. I know I have had several instances where I just needed some cash and my ID and usually when this happens I end up asking someone else that is with me if I can stuff my things in their bag, I know annoying right? Or I ask my husband to carry it for me, in his pocket of course. Or I just walk around miserably with that extra weight on my shoulder. This wallet is the perfect solution for those times. It is also fits great in your new stylish but small clutch!
You can get your HuMn 2 wallet online now.

Wednesday, April 17, 2013 FNS Hair Thickening Products and Review

Osmotics Cosmeceuticals is a leader an anti-aging products for both skin and hair. Their products can be found at high end department stores like Nordstroms and Dillards. FNS is their line of hair thickening products.
Stress, hormone fluctuations and the natural aging process can decrease the follicle's ability to receive and process nutrients. Osmotics award-winning line of FNS hair care delivers a clinically proven mixture of anti-aging vitamins, minerals and amino acids to the follicle. The result? Lush, Thicker, Shinier Hair.
The FNS hair care line is a 3 step system which includes Revitalizing Shampoo, Revitalizing Conditioner, and Follicle Nutrient Serum. They target thinning, fine, and damaged hair with a mixture of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that promote strong healthy hair.
I was sent FNS Encore the Follicle Nutrient Serum that has been updated with a new formula enhanced for better penetration and performance. I am not familiar with the original serum but from what I have read it is a clinically proven and award winning product. I have very fine thin hair so I am always eager to try any product that claims to help with this problem. I have been using the serum for a couple of weeks now. Even though it is applied to the scalp it does get onto the hair at the roots and tends to weight it down a bit and feel a little stiff at first. I find if I brush my hair at the roots or rub with my fingers I can alleviate this and get it looking normal. I can't really say I have seen a difference in my hair, although it's been only a couple weeks. I wish I would have received the shampoo and conditioner for my review as well since this is meant as a 3 step system. I might just break down and purchase these. In my opinion it is worth giving these products a try especially if you are desperate, like me, to find a solution for your flat, fine, thinning hair.

Monday, April 8, 2013 The Art of Shaving Review

The Art of Shaving offers a variety of shaving products for men, from classic razors to luxurious shaving kits. The Art of Shaving has become the best-selling men’s brand at high-end department stores.
I was sent two of their kits for review and my husband was pretty excited about this.
The 4 Elements of the Perfect Shave Starter Kit
This kit includes a weeks worth of shaving essentials that contain 100% Pure Lemon Essential Oil. A Pre-Shave Oil, Shaving Cream, After-Shave Balm and a Badger Shaving Brush. So you can Prepare, Lather Up!, Shave, Moisturize. My husband really liked this kit. He especially loved the lemon scent and how gentle the products were on his skin. He has very sensitive skin and was surprised that these products did not irritate or cause breakouts. This kit actually lasted longer then a week, my husband tends to not shave on a daily basis. We also received the Carry On Kit which is the TSA approved version of this kit for traveling. It's packed in a clear pouch with a zip top closure. This is perfect for my husband who travels for work on a regular basis.
The Art of Shaving has some great products that would make awesome Father's Day gifts and Father's Day is just around the corner. You can purchase online or find a store near you that carries The Art of Shaving products.
