Before I retired, I knew several guys who were in NFFE, National Federation of Federal Employees. I joined myself for a year for personal reasons. ALL of us were conservatives.

At that time the federal unions served as ombudsmen for employees who had disputes with management. If management was worth its salt, they wouldn't need that. Same for private sector unions.
