Well yes, if they a biotech comes up with a new delivery system (which many are doing) the delivery system could for sure be patentable. BUT, any delivery system would likely have many targetable drugs so they would just license their delivery system as some do now. ...........If you tweak silver it is no longer silver and would in any case need FDA approval.

I'm much more in agreement with your idea for the government to step in - but they won't. Not in this political climate.

As to orphan drugs; there are incentives for orphan drug status now in current law. BUT sliver in any case wouldn't qualify as an orphan drug by definition. .........This is a hugely important topic and should get way more of our attention than it does. I'm glad you brought it to our attention but I just don't think silver is the answer. I could be wrong.
