.......i agree with the article, but just as cable has competition from sattelites there is competition on the horizon for cable internet.

......intel and others have developed ways of speeding up telephone lines. as you know, with internet telephony there will be a furious upgrade of the internet backbone and to tie this to the phone line.

......between cisco, lucent, ericsson, etc. there is no way the phone lines will be non-competitive with cable. i would vote for both of them (cable +improved phone lines) slicing off a good share of the market with wireless a distant third for now.

......the upshot: the internet and the TV and fianally going to converge in the next few years--there will be lots of profits for savvy investors.

.......btw: what do you think is the greatest strength of @home and who is the primary competition?
