That's what you say, but then you weren't there.
The concepts you attribute solely to Zoroastrianism are found in many religions. For example, Buddhism has a messiah figure called maitreya. Did that derive from Zoroastrianism also? Ah who cares, you're only interested in slamming Christianity and its root, Judaism.
As it happens, Zoroastrianism as an organized religion, is only about as old as 500BC itself (the first mention of the religion was in Herodotus' The Histories ca 440BC). Which means if either Judaism or Zoroastrianism influenced one another, the influence could have gone either way. At any rate, if Judaism was founded on Zoroastrianism as simply as you say, they'd have simply called themselves Zoroastrians, revered the Zoroastrian scriptures (which unfortunately were only written sometime between 559-330BC) - see Avesta, etc.. |
