I have read in the recent past that Andy Grove of Intel is considered almost 'paranoid' about competetion & someone else coming up with something newer , better , etc. Maybe paranoid is the place to be in this incredibly fast moving digital era. My vote for a new CEO (not that ZE has asked me ) would be a for a younger upper manager ( CFO , Exec. V.P. or present CEO ) from one of the dozens of successful tech firms. ZE needs to refit its image to the street as a 'new player' in the fast paced DVD , HDTV , cable modem era. No doubt it is perceived as good ol analog Zenith , which is not all that bad with its history of long ago if it now can show to the world it is ready to deal with the 'now'. And the way things appear to be going in this industry , now is for but a fleeting moment. I do have a gut feeling that something is just around the corner & it could & should be something big. I keep remembering how Ellison of Oracle publicly stated what an attractive partner LG would be. Microsoft , Intel , Oracle? , LG . all want to be in on this game. If nothing else , it reaffirms what phenomenal growth we have to look forward to in the near future. It should be real interesting.
