One minute the bible is a fairy tale that can't be trusted and the next, it's an eyewitness testimony
For the majority, it is a proven exaggerated fiction from a loose collection of primitve hill tribes always at war with each other. Almost in every case the dates & times are not supported by any modern archaeology and this after 200yrs of intense searching with all numbers absolutely inflated beyond any reason.
Its interesting in some parts anthropologically that are special from creation & origin mythologies that were undoubtedly stolen & borrowed from surrounding cultures , written in at much later dates by this unexceptional bands of warlike primities & their endless tales of wars & woe. But such is the history of the rest of the world too except this particular group possessed no skills, had very little art & very little technology even up to the time of Jesus, that was all borrowed to from surrounding Egyptian Persian, Babylonian & Hellene cultures too. They had nothing really to offer but there fable of "divine commission" which some wise figures in history like the Persian Cyrus were compassionate enough to allow them to practice.
Like little children in the sandbox, beating up on each other in the school yard, making up stories, these tribes were never enslaved in Egypt or existing in vast numbers at the time of Solomon, just rude hill tribes who later, only around 600bc started to write down these fantastic stories . |
