Why is the truth absurd? Its common knowledge now except if you have your head buried in the sand, which is OK since make believe & myths do have functional value & work in human culture, thats why we have the theatre and all kinds of folklore. But there's always the flip side too,if you need that propaganda to live your life by & cannot find virtue by any other means , then its for you, just dont go trying to stuff it down other peoples throats.
The entire Ten Commandments is absurd, to think that this was the first codification of human Law, we have codes preserved that are far older than this. That Moses smashes the Tablets God just wrote upon because of some golden calf thing, is absurd, but makes for good theatre. Those scribes in the 6th century had a field day borrowing & cobbling together those stories.
Yes, i think the Egyptians definitely have a legitimate complaint here, no jewish artifacts were ever found in Egypt. |
