I have a general sense of what's going on...

They were known almost entirely for building line doubles and quadruplers and doing it better than anyone else...

That is taking 525 scan lines and doubling it to 1000 or so...

I believe I have read before that their products digitized
the signal first and then progressively doubled without interlacing which was far ahead of anyone else before sending it back out to be displayed in the current NTSC format...

But my general sense is that this guy is the guy to see
if you don't want to shell out millions immediately
using existing equiptment and then adding this upconverter
which takes the transmitted signal in analog and digitizes it
and probably doubles the lines before being transmitted...

The new spectrums given to broadcasters allows them to choose between
1 high quality HDTV channel or many lesser quality DIGITAL channels
and while most broadcasters have agreed to use combinations of both at least in the short term there would be a calling for this product...

My sense is that this guy can custom design specific solutions for
PC , DLP projectors , TV , Broadcasters etc. depending on what they need...

I think the Texas Instruments connection is that their
Digital light projectors (DLP) while currently displaying
a digital solution cannot currently recieve a digital signal...
I think their collaberation that is ongoing is to add a board level
digital DECODER to put in before the DLP processor...

That's why I am wondering about other applications...
This company would seem Ideal for some board level solutions for TV's recieving HDTV signals....

So there are several angles to this company which make it Very appealing to me ...

Not to mention obviously the already mentioned PC applications...
