The idea the Shia tribes will fight against other Shia tribes for the Sunnie's is nuts. Anyone should know that.
These tribes go back to the 13th century. Kids can name their relatives going back hundreds of years. Tribal loyalty is everything.
Iraq is 60% Shia, 20% Sunnie and 20% Kurds. Saddam was Sunnie and why he was fighting Shia Iran. When bush went in he toppled the Sunnie's and replaced them with Shia.
Millions of Sunnie fled to other countries and the reason the surge worked was because Shia death squads were out murdering the Sunnie, so they made a deal with the Americans so they would protect them from the Shia death squads.
So now the Shia controlled government is working with Iran, while the Sunnie's are getting guns from the saudies and both tribes are killing each other in Iraq.
The fight now is Assad (Shia), Iran (Shia), Hezzbola (Shia) and Iraq Shia, fighting against the Syrian rebels Sunnie, Saudies, Sunnie, Egypt, Sunnie, Muslim brotherhood sunnie and all other countries in the region which are sunnie, except the Kurds.
Anyone who thinks Iraq will line up with the sunnies, mentioned above against their shia tribe has no idea what they are talking about and shows extreme ignorance of the situation over there.
So now we are fighting the same folks we spent trillions on just a decade ago; and Sadam the Sunnie was the perfect counter to Iran the shia and Bush toppled him.
That was just plain dumb and we can now see how dumb. |
