Chico area climate to me is as good as any place outside of CA. Even the hot summer middle of the day cools off rapidly.. Probably doesn't come close to anything near the coastal areas of central or southern CA though weather.com Check out the heat index in humid weather. Kind of amazing down here it can be like 85 degrees at 10am or 10 pm but with the very high humidity it feels like a 100 degrees. en.wikipedia.org
