Not disclosing information about oneself gives the individual the ability to masquerade as an expert if one wants. The old definition of an "expert" is a person a long way from home with a briefcase. How true! I am not saying anyone on this thread does it...but one wonders.

I supposed that everyone on this thread was looking for ideas that would help them become better investors. We need a vehicle that allows us to ascertain the accuracy of a persons observations, or opinions, and it is nice to see ones profile.

I do not believe that age or area of professional competence is trivial. On the other hand it sometimes is not entirely relevent either. It is just another piece of the puzzle.

Makes one wonder when I read a post with terrible sentence structure, many misspelled words etc and all of a sudden when that person is queried about his background, he changes his wording, spelling and sentence structure and relates his entire dossier of work experience. Are you suspicious?
