It is not a matter of individual rights be damned. That is nothing but right wing hyperbole.

Balancing the rights of the individual with the rights of society is very tough. But every democratic society has to do that. It is even tougher since we have become an existentialist society by default.

Which is why it would be good for our congress people to have a solid social science education.

But balance it we must.

There can be no individual rights without a well functioning democratic society. That is a concept conservatives seem to not understand.

Just look at history before our constitutional democracy/republic.
