Coming from a proponent of education, that is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever seen. It is pretty obvious that it depends totally on HOW you spend the money.

We are spending 4x the amount (maybe 5) that we were in 1965 (inflation adjusted). Has the quality of education kept pace with those expenditures? Hell, no. Not even close.

If you blow the money on keeping unions happy it is not benefiting students. If you're having to build "rubber rooms", you're wasting it.

In 2004, we spent nearly 500 Million on "Safe & Drug Free Schools State Grants." How's that working out? We have more kids using drugs today than ever -- and not just marijuana, but serious alcohol, opiate, and benzodiezipine addictions.

Over the last 30 years we've increased expenditures for special ed more than 400%. Special ed teachers are still using techniques, in many if not most cases, that have failed for the entire 30 year period. And I see it routinely in my work; these kids are having to go outside the school system to get the tools they need. Generally because public schools are too consumed with bureaucratic nonsense to adopt new methods.

That was a really absurd post.
