lisa, you can't see that the file is named 'TRENDY.BAT' because of a setting in Windows Explorer. Select the VIEW | OPTIONS menu, and make sure that you have unchecked the setting labelled "Hide MS-DOS extensions for known filetypes". This will cause the 'TRENDY' file to reveal itself as 'TRENDY.BAT'.

To create the shortcut, open Windows Explorer and go to the directory c:\trendy. Click with the right mouse button on the 'TRENDY.BAT' file. This will bring up a menu. Select 'Copy' from the menu. Then, right click on your Desktop (or whereever you want the shortcut to be placed) and select 'Paste Shortcut'. This will create an icon that, when double-clicked, will run the 'TRENDY.BAT' file.

Hope this helps,
~Mitch
