There is also speculation that it won't be released immediately in the US or other 1st world markets. I don't believe that. Consumers would be pissed, too much bad publicity.


I am not sure that anybody is speculating along these lines except for me. Just leave off LTE and US spectrum bands (this saves money) and focus on the developing markets where Apple needs help.

My other path would be to simply make this a prepaid only offering. US consumers can buy it direct through Apple, though of course, that would piss off the carriers.

I guess they could make a crappy/ugly iPhone, but that would be even less characteristic of Apple than the above options.
