but the low-end model has to be good enough so that people want to buy it in the first place. An S3 - the peer of the iPhone 5 - can be had for peanuts now. People already view the iPhone 5 and S3 as similar-quality phones.


It must be a mystery to you how Apple is still selling tens of millions of units a quarter.
