“Presidents have always been very careful about maintaining the appearance of keeping hands off the I.R.S.,” [Blunt] said. “I don’t have any reason to believe there wasn’t targeting of conservatives, but it might well have been a lot more than that as well.”
Cute. Classic gobbledygook. Throw in enough code and double negatives to please the hardcore RW.
The people who call themselves "conservatives" today don't need any actual evidence to hold their views. In fact, since the evidence is so often opposed to their views, it requires them to rationalize the evidence away. Obama is a "Chicago thug," clever as they come and schooled in covering his tracks, so his "minions" just secretly got word to the IRS to hold up the tax exemption of Teabagger parties (never mind that if they were actually worth holding up for political reasons, they shouldn't have gotten tax exemptions in the first place, lol) and then added in a few inconsequential left wing groups as well, just to ensure that no one would be able to accuse the admin of targeting RW groups.
Clever, eh? That's Obama for ya, as clever as they come. Way over his head as president, of course (how could it be otherwise?), but clever as they come and on the way to instituting totalitarian sharia in our fair Christian country, since the Democrats are such dupes that they believe anything he says.
