7/5/13 Contest Update
Biotech investors were treated to their very own fireworks display this July 4th week, bringing them a bit closer to financial independence.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 30.80% YTD (vs. up 21.09% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 32.83% (vs. up 26.72% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 15.23% YTD (vs. up 12.71% YTD a week ago).
BLADE’s portfolio pierced the bulls eye this week with a 20% allocation to CLDX and took over the Contest top spot with a sizzling 91.59% YTD gain. FILO’s portfolio, up a mere 88.49% YTD, dropped to second place, while RKRW’s portfolio, up 85.60% YTD, is now in third place.
At Friday's close, all 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 17 of the 39 beating the NBI.
