I only have about 5 tapes that are critical, the rest are just nothing important. I use to use my camcorder as a VCR, recorded TV shows and played them back on the TV with the camcorder.

Now that digital video is the norm, I have 100 times more video that I ever took with that 2700 dollar Hi8. Yes I paid 2700 for it. Today that would get a you a mid range pro camcorder.
