"Tis the Season . . . Gifts" is one of those threads which will be for all practical purposes only for the moment, meaning to the extent of the Christmas season. However, as with practically every thread I've ever read, not all posts deal specifically with the subject matter. Perfectly fine with me, just as long as it doesn't evolve into a slug fest of some sort or another. Also, some are under the inclination that they cannot post to other threads just because other people frequent them or a certain type of people hang out on said types of threads. This is unfortunated, but true. By all means, if this applies to anyone, then use the thread as a place of neutrality. Thank you for posting to it and for spreading the word. It is so hard to want to give when one is dreading this particular time of year more and more with each passing year.

While I appreciate your suggestion about tickets and such, Christine, such an idea is just not practical for people in my position. I'll give you a hint. My gross individual income for the past three years has averaged 13G's. Debt does not thrill me, even for the sake of the woman I truly love. Please don't ask if I love money more, I'd hate to have to lie my way out of it.

Unrelated subject: As this type of forum can provide so many opportunities to get other people's views on any variety of subjects, I'm curious; does anyone ever have specific dreams about people they used to go to school with but didn't really ever know? Every once in a great while I dream about two girls I went to K - 12 with but I've yet to figure out why. Has or does anyone else experience such a thing?
