>> How can you be such a great judge of what Bush did and what Obama should do without telling us what YOU think should be done.

Sorry, I thought my previous reply addressed that about as well I know how; I can only point out what I see as the problems with their actions.

I don't believe there is anything Obama can do at this point. We elected the wrong guy to follow Bush. He came into office trying to be assertive but he didn't have the underlying knowledge to give him credibility. At that point, there was nothing to be done. I don't know how an inherently weak individual can be made to look strong.

Just as Reagan's "Tear down this wall" brought about the end of the Cold War (after having already cut USSR off at the knees), Obama should have been ready for these events and reacted in a similarly strong manner. My opinion is we could have offered covert assistance to the Iranians, who were begging for it at the time, and even went so far to write Obama a letter requesting assistance. Which he received and ignored.

In our office we were shouting at the TV, "WTF is wrong with this guy?" It was astonishing that he sat on his hands throughout the entire event. We've seen the similar process play in each incident, fearful of committing himself to these causes. This just isn't the kind of leadership the US needs to bring to the table.
