Another lapse of your reason & ignorance falling into senility, the Augustine referenced was he who continuing the dialogues of the classical Greek thinkers in both physics & moral & ethical metaphysics, did you think Jesus was the first to come with the golden rule? Adams, for instance was a Unitarian and they acknowledged only God the Father as Divine and denied the divinity of Christ, you don't think these religious differences in doctrines didnt cause problems in the colonies? There were laws in certain states that none holding such doctrinal views could ever be elected to office, even jailed & some cases killed.

Back to the classical education, how brain numb can you be, these were highly cherished studies , those of greek and latin in cultured early American educations.
