If Layton had read investment message boards, I daresay he would have started again. They are strangely addictive, at times hilariously funny, but more often darkly depressing. Very rarely do they contain anything informative or insightful. If you want to preserve your faith in the essential goodness of human beings, DON'T READ THEM! Doing so will merely accelerate your decline into misanthrope if you are that way inclined, or initiate the process if you aren't. Egotism and meanness are my personal failings; madness, mendacity, cowardice and self-delusion ...... well, not so much. With that said, I will concede that starting up up my own board at this late stage of the game may be a sign that madness is creeping up on me. |
