This thread has certainly got everyone excited! It seems like the consensus is that a day trader can make a terrific return once he/she/it knows what he/she/it is doing. Let's throw two more carrots into the stew: 1. Must a day trader have no open positions at the end of the day so as not to be caught by an overnight surprise? 2. What about always having a "put" in your portfolio (this is not as painful as it sounds) or a short position on something so as not to get caught with your pants down & wiped out if the market suddenly heads south a la Oct.28?
