now how do they charge you when you download 1 gigabits of data while your neighbor only sends 2 lines of email? Pass pass, The cable company can meter the static IP number which must be assigned for a cable connection. They can then charge for the amount of data. The local cable system, which I use, is discussing this due to the extreme cost of the backbone. The seemed to have overlooked the the amount of backbone bandwidth necessary to the net. Glenn
