7/12/13 Contest Update
Hot, hot, hot! Biotechies might guess I’m not talking about the weather. And this week the biotech bubble managed to grow considerably larger without my personal contribution, as I was away for a bit of brief R&R in Big Sur.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 36.81% YTD (vs. up 30.80% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 40.99% (vs. up 32.83% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 19.23% YTD (vs. up 15.23% YTD a week ago).
BLADE’s portfolio continued to amaze, holding on to the Contest lead with a wondrous 97.97% YTD gain. Just a smidgen behind, FILO’s portfolio, finished the week up 96.99% YTD, while RKRW’s portfolio, up 94.51% YTD, held on to third place.
At Friday's close, all 39 Contest portfolios remained in the black with 17 of the 39 beating the NBI.
