Pam, yes again. 30% sounds about right. Maybe more. What really seperates them from the rest of the sector is that they are very, very, very conservative in writing their loans. This lessons their defalt rate on car loans. I would say that 70% of the sector is not this conservative. They take on high risk loans and get into trouble. The higher risk companies are bringing down CPSS with them. Also in Oct. Smith Barney went to hold from a buy because of the sector and also got their numbers mixed up on the earnings acording to CPSS. S.B. would'nt admit to the mistake because the stock was moving in their favor and that is what makes them look good. I think tax loss selling is holding it down right now from people buying as high as 18, in which is giving us a nice buying opportunity. Look for higher prices in Jan. and the rest of 98. Take care.
