They might do it for obfuscation purposes alone... I'm convinced this prosecution was by a certain mindset exacerbated by the contemptible toadies in the press. This was part of of an ongoing attempt to discredit the beliefs underlying the second amendment, with obfuscation of other issues a sidebar. Bad guys had a setback in this acquittal, but this was just a skirmish in a larger war. This ain't over. They will be back.
