Zimmerman should fast track his suit against NBC and do it in a very public way. This is where people form their view points on this case.

There was a deliberate smear campaign based on known falsehood designed to cause harm to Zimmerman. As a result Zimmerman and the Public have been damaged by the false characterizations. The public consciousness and resulting mob mentality was formed by the NBC corrupted presentation. There were other culprits but the press is responsible for deliberately falsifying their reports to damage his character and create a false image through their deliberate distribution of misinformation.

This should be done immediately while the public eye is still open to facts and the truth behind the media curtain. Competing media outlets might be willing to present the facts of a competitors wrong doing.

I am still seeing that most people are outraged based on this misrepresentation of fact. Correct that and most of the outrage will turn to calm.
The press coverage — snatching at half-truths, misconstruing evidence,
inferring racial bias in the absence of evidence and openly cheering for a
convictions — was generally deplorable.
