Okay, Jane, I've finished my reading lesson. I'm not so sure I've actually witnessed such as was described in Det. 28, but it does seem to ring true with regard to Africa in some places. Just an observation, not really pointing any fingers.
As I've stated before, I don't really keep up with this thread as much as I used to. Its almost an irony of sorts. I used to read it often, but rarely posted. Now I post, but rarely read. BTW, quite the informative post by Alan's wife, Nancy. We truely know very little of each other's beliefs and how the Word of God is applied to those beliefs.
Anyway, with regard to Det. 28, I believe there is a post somewhere on this myriad of posts which historically applies to this particular chapter, but don't ask me which one. I'm thinking it may have been posted by Emile somewhere around the time when many (me included) were afraid that Steve had left us because of a rift which had developed. I just hope that same rift isn't going to rear its egotistical head again (OKAY GUYS!?). Ask Emile if he can find it for you.
I kind of have an idea as to when it might have been, but my reference point is on another thread as far as date goes. I'll look and post back in a few minutes. Then maybe someone else can find the post where the Jewish people were so set upon by their captors that they actually ate the bodies of others to survive. I'm no historian by any stretch of the imagination, but it was an interesting post to say the least and also quite lengthy if I remember correctly.
