The new Oggl Pro offers advanced photo functionality, including a number of manual controls over parameters such as ISO and white balance.

Exclusive to the new 41-megapixel Nokia Lumia 1020 (read our hands-on here), Hipstamatic's Oggl Pro app delivers all the features of the original Oggl but adds advanced functionality for photographers.

Some of the more notable capabilities of Oggl Pro are similar to those found on advanced compact cameras and DSLRs. With Oggl Pro you are able to make manual exposure adjustments including shutter speed, on-screen tap-to-focus and the ability to set white balance and ISO. Oggl Pro also comes with an auto-level, a lossless 3x zoom and promises full resolution image capture to which you can apply Hipstamatic's film and lens effects.

Like the original Oggl app, subscriptions cost $2.99 a quarter; $9.99 a year for sharing services and access to Hipstamatic's full range of film and lens effects, including the delivery of new gear each month. Oggl Pro is free and comes installed on the Nokia Lumia 1020. Owners of the new smartphone who sign up by August 9 will receive 60 days of complimentary access to Hipstamatic's entire catalog of lenses and films.

The original Oggl app is available on iPhone and, according to Hipstamatic's press release, will soon come to WP8 devices with at least 1 Gigabyte of RAM.

Oggl PRO helps photographers creatively and beautifully capture shots that weren't possible before.

Hipstamatic Press Release

Hipstamatic announces Oggl PRO for Nokia Lumia 1020, an advanced iteration of the original Oggl app that gives photographers more control when snapping photos. Oggl PRO’s new capabilities, including setting manual exposure, reframing shots, auto-leveling and dual capture, will help inspire a new, creative approach to storytelling. When the device hits shelves, Nokia Lumia 1020 owners who want to try Oggl PRO can get 60 days of complimentary access to Hipstamatic’s entire catalog of lenses and films if they sign up by August 9th.

"The Nokia Lumia 1020 is the first time a hardware manufacturer has built a smartphone to be camera-first, and having the opportunity to build our software alongside this talented hardware team is exciting,ā€ said Lucas Buick, CEO, Hipstamatic. ā€œWe’re eager to continue building amazing camera products for the mobile community, and to further inspire creativity in people by making it easy to capture and share life’s best moments through photography. Hipstamatic Oggl PRO on Nokia Lumia 1020 reflects our vision, gives even more control to photographers, and produces stunning results.ā€

Oggl PRO Features

Oggl PRO will be free to download, and will include all of the original Oggl capture and curation features, including five pre-set lenses and films, the ability to easily snap, edit, and share photos to social networks such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and the opportunity to interact with some of the best photographers from around the world. Additionally, with Oggl PRO, photographers will be able to:

• Have greater control of their shot by making manual adjustments
• Reframe their shot by using the lossless 3x zoom feature
• Set manual exposure and tap to focus
• Orient their shots using the auto-leveling feature
• Control white balance, ISO and shutter speed
• Capture full resolution images at 41 MP and apply Hipstamatic’s film and lens effects

ā€œHipstamatic has been a driving force for advancing and inspiring a new era in photography, and some the best and brightest photographers of our day use their camera products,ā€ said Jo Harlow, executive vice president of Nokia Smart Devices. ā€œWe are excited to bring a first-of-its-kind experience like Oggl PRO to the Nokia Lumia 1020, and look forward to seeing the amazing photography the community will undoubtedly create.ā€

Support the Community & Get More Gear

Like the original Oggl app, Oggl PRO is an experience designed for capturing and curating beautiful photos, not for showcasing advertising. To support this vision for the community, Oggl PRO will offer two subscription options: quarterly for $2.99 and yearly for $9.99. Each subscription comes with access to Hipstamatic’s entire catalog of current lens and film gear, and guarantees new gear each month.

Availability:

Oggl PRO is currently exclusive to the Nokia Lumia 1020 and will be available later this summer. The original Oggl app is available on iPhone and will soon come to WP8 devices with at least 1 Gigabyte of RAM.

About Hipstamatic: Hipstamatic is a photography company aiming to inspire the world to live more beautifully and creatively. Through a variety of offerings, including Oggl, Oggl PRO, Hipstamatic Classic, Snap magazine, IncrediBooth, and PrintLab, Hipstamatic encourages its community to tap into their inner artists and use photography as a gateway back to creativity.
