Hi Claude nice to get your opinion. try not to confuse hi purity flake with hi purity hydrothermal. different substances.

You might want to check out the NGC site to understand the volume loss of their flake graphite if they try to move to a sperical product which is needed for battery usage.

flake is naturally anisotropic and hydrothermal is naturally isotropic. so NGC and other flake deposit holders need to grind their flakes down to "potato" shape to attempt to enter the synthetic space. then they need to attain the purity levels demanded by the market.

NGC is pretty open about the difficulties, cost and volume loss (approx 66% of their feedstock) on their website.

"Only flake graphite which can be upgraded to 99.9% purity can be used to make the “spherical” or “potato” shaped graphite used in Li ion batteries. The process is expensive and wastes 70% of the feedstock flake graphite. As a result, spherical graphite currently sells for between $3-4,000/tonne or three times the price of high quality flake graphite."

keep in mind that hi purity flake has different characteristics than hi purity hydrothermal/vein/lump. flake deposits are sedimentary and have not been cooked at the high temperatures and pressures as hydrothermal vein/lump deposits, so there are some very distinct differences between the two substances. the market seems to be finally catching on imo.

mother nature has done ZEN a huge favor. an even bigger one than she did for the Sri Lankan and Borrowdale mine owners. hard to bulk mine the centimeters wide veins in Sri Lanka and Borrowdale, while the Albany deposit looks to have some interesting benefits that i sure don't have to explain to you.

no shortage of flake deposits on the planet. only one ZEN so far. such an interesting speculation with no magic processing techniques involved to get to 99.99+%
