You could pick one place FL or NC as your primary residence and travel for weeks or months at a time during offseason. Gives you flexibility to go out west or north as well rather than be stuck in just FL and NC forever with to much capital tied up in two properties.. I think one reason FL will always be more popular is this is the place to be to escape winter.. Finding what to do the other 5-7 months is the question. If you were in NC can come to FL for a bit in winter and go other places in spring and fall<g> I am all for hiking, nature, lakes, mountains, 50-75 degree daytime temps low humidity my sweet spot. Ever summer anywhere in the northern great lakes? I just love Traverse City..
